TREND CEN End Terminal
The TREND™ CEN End Terminal consists of steel ‘directional’ breakaway posts. Each breakaway post consists of a Lower Post and an Upper Post which are joined using a Breakable Tension Bolt.
During a head-on impact, within the applicable criteria, longitudinal forces break the Breakable Tension Bolt, releasing the Upper Post from the Lower Post.
The energy of an impacting vehicle is absorbed by friction between the panels and deformation of the rail sections as they slide rearward over the shaper fins on the adjoining panels.
During a side impact along the TREND™ CEN End Terminal, within the applicable performance criteria, the Upper and Lower Posts have been shown to remain together, laterally supporting the rail sections, so that the impacting vehicle is smoothly redirected.
